Since taking my first culinary classes freshman year of high school, I knew I wanted to work in the food industry. By the end of high school, I knew I wanted to own a restaurant or food truck. I received a bachelor's degree in entrepreneurship from Millikin University in order to learn all the skills and resources I needed to start my own business. During my senior year of college, I entered an entrepreneurship contest with my concept for "Scotty B's Burger and Cheese". A couple of weeks earlier I received the worst news of my life that my cousin Scott, who was like a brother to me, had passed away. I wanted to create the submitted concept of my mac and cheeseburger in his honor. The concept quickly caught on and throughout the rest of the school year I set up pop-up shops selling my mac and cheeseburgers at football games. ?Over the last few years I have been working on crafting my mac and cheeseburgers into a solid recipe. After gaining experience working in the Chicago restaurant scene, I decided it is time to create Cuisines by Sammy. I will provide catering services, pop-up restaurants, and other unique services for the Chicagoland area.
